Ananya Panday’s style quotient is unmatched. Armed with a slew of celebrated stylists, the Call Me Bae actor has made her mark in the hearts of fashion critics and brands. Panday rocks Western as well as ethnic, and does not shy away from playing around with silhouettes and textures.
Bollywood actress Ananya Panday recently showcased a distinctive ensemble that seamlessly blends traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary fashion. She donned a strapless blouse crafted from wreaths of white flowers, reminiscent of the traditional 'gajra', paired with a soft yellow and white checkered cotton saree. Complementing this look was a unique 'moon veil' inspired by the 'phoolon ki chaddar', a canopy of flowers traditionally held over brides during Indian wedding ceremonies.
The 'moon veil' is a testament to meticulous artistry, featuring over 800 hand-rolled white Chanderi flowers meticulously arranged on a spread of ivory pearl moti. This intricate piece was handcrafted by a team of ten women over seven days, highlighting the dedication and skill involved in its creation.
Harshita Gautam, founder of the brand responsible for the veil, emphasized the significance of such handmade pieces, stating that they evoke human connections, preserve memories, and serve as a reminder that handmade is a luxury.
Ananya's choice to embrace and promote traditional, handcrafted attire not only showcases her appreciation for India's rich textile heritage but also sets a trend for incorporating artisanal elements into modern fashion.
